Background
Have you ever dreamed of travelling across the U.S. with doodles, doodles, and more doodles? We have. Kooper (@kooperdoodle), Tucker (@thetuckerdoodle) and Jagger (@jaggerdwagger) certainly have because this year, they made that dream come true!
Jagger first approached us with the idea of a custom name bandana with the hashtag #doodlecaravan2016 written below. Jagger asked for something fun and in a different color than what we carried at the time. EASY!
This was at the start of Bacon Bibs when we only had 6 colors available at the time, so picking a new color was easy peasy! We settled on a bright blue, a blue chevron back, and metallic charcoal ink. The only other request? To donate $1 from the proceeds to Socks for Sandwich, an organization started by Lord Sandwich's owners who bring warm socks to those in need.
Have you met Lord Sandwich (@sandwichthedoodle)? I have, and he's 75 pounds (don't quote me on that) or PURE awesomeness. We learned more about Socks for Sandwich and decided $1 simply wasn't enough. We settled on $2 plus a pair of socks for every bandana purchased, made the caravaners their own bibs, and eagerly followed their journey.
The response was immediate. I knew the Instagram community was a great one, but never experienced it first hand. All I can say is this community is amazeballs. Each and every person shows genuine support and love for one another. They say We Are IG Family, and the #doodlecaravan2016 campaign proved that to be true 1000%. As the crew made their way around pups from everywhere showed their support by purchasing a bandana. We even ran out of fabric a few times and had to scramble to find more!
The Outcome
The #doodlecaravan2016 bandana was a huge success and a campaign we were so happy to be a part of. A total of 97 pups joined in on the fun and we were able to donate $200 to Socks for Sandwich, plus a big box of socks for them to handout to the community.
